Artist Talks & Lectures
Maya enjoys opportunities to talk with people more specifically about her fine art and imagery. It offers a wonderful glimpse into the process and meaning behind Maya's work. She has often lectured as part of past solo shows.
Feel free to contact Maya to schedule an Artist Talk.
Reflection Press & Maya's work as an educator
Since 1996 Maya has been working in classrooms and libraries around the country teaching the lessons of empowerment through creativity. Making art for children's books gave her the perfect opportunity to work with some of the smartest people she knows, children! ...and some of the most courageous, educators! This work led her to co-found her own press.

Mission: Reflection Press empowers people to fully claim themselves and their inherent creative force. By providing experiences and materials that use creativity, presence, and reflection as tools to find, explore, and know self, we strengthen ourselves as a people. In this strength, we come to know that we all belong here and now and that we all possess the capacity to create a world based on equality in which we are free to express and expand into our truest selves.
Offerings: Reflection Press provides workshops, presentations, lectures, and materials that engage the creative force as a tool for self-empowerment. We also work to provide imagery, written and visual, that begins to reflect people who are often under-represented in the current media. Through books, posters, prints and online resources, we strive to reach and empower as many people as possible. For when we feel reflected in our world, we sense that we belong and that this is our world to love and create and change.
